Restoring the Huemul Deer - Fundación Rewilding Argentina

  • June 15, 2021

The huemul deer is one of the primary herbaceous species along the Patagonia, and was a common occupant of the area until the 1800’s when populations began to decline.

In an effort to restore the species to its ancestral roaming grounds, researchers are tracking current populations of the huemel deer using Lotek LiteTrack Iridium collars to better understand how to manage and conserve the species and their habitat.
